Dominican Welcomes New Leaders in Academic, Advancement Roles

Dominican University this year welcomed new leaders in University Advancement and the Provost鈥檚 Office who will play vital roles in shaping the future of the university.
Antonio Martinez, Jr., Vice Rresident for University Advancement
In April, Antonio Martinez, Jr. stepped into the role of vice president for University Advancement. With more than 20 years of experience in creating opportunities for others,
Martinez is responsible for overseeing the fundraising, major gifts and investments needed to support the growth of Dominican鈥檚 River Forest and Chicago campuses.
鈥淒ominican University is a premier institution that provides a high-quality, mission-driven education centering the values of truth, service and commitment to the common good that I am proud to be part of and grow,鈥 Martinez said earlier this year.
Dr. Mia Hardy, Provost
In the Provost鈥檚 Office, Dominican welcomed Dr. Mia Hardy as provost. Hardy, who joined in June, oversees faculty and academic affairs staff, leading the strategic direction of academic programs and services while ensuring that students receive a high-quality education. She has a background in sociology and more than 20 years of roles in higher education leadership.
鈥淚 am honored to join an esteemed university with such an impactful presence in the community as well as a renowned national and global reputation,鈥 Hardy said.
Dr. Bianca Sola-Perkins, Inaugural Associate Provost for Adult Education and Special Programs
The provost's office welcomed Dr. Bianca Sola-Perkins as the inaugural associate provost for adult education and special programs. Sola-Perkins joined the office in July, also with more than 20 years of experience in higher education. In this newly created role, she will develop innovative programming to help non-traditional students excel academically and professionally.
鈥淚 am excited to contribute to the university鈥檚 mission and expand opportunities for non-traditional learners,鈥 she said. 鈥淏y fostering collaboration and supporting faculty-led initiatives, I hope to help position the university as a responsive and forward-thinking leader in adult education and non-traditional student success.鈥
