Established in 2016, the Borra College of Health Sciences works to address the academic and professional needs of students in health-related fields by expanding educational and professional opportunities for a new generation of students. It builds on Dominican’s established strengths in the social and natural sciences with outstanding programs in Nursing, Nutrition and DieteticsPhysician Assistant Studies, and Medical Studies

It supports new and emerging styles of learning and pedagogy, and provides for an increased emphasis on student-faculty collaborative research. Most significantly, it looks outward to the community it serves, enabling the university to do its part to address critical shortages of health care and wellness professionals in the state and around the nation.

As a student in Dominican’s Borra College of Health Sciences, you will:

  • Connect theory to practical application through course work and in-depth experiential learning in a targeted health science field of study.
  • Effectively consider healthcare related cases and communicate appropriate action using critical thinking, ethical considerations, and interdisciplinary inquiry.
  • Recognize and implement culturally competent practices in health care that consider multiple perspectives, value differences, and utilize compassion.
