VP of Enrollment Management Selected for Executive Leadership Academy

River Forest, IL鈥擠r. Jason Harmon, vice president of Enrollment Management at Dominican University, has been named to the prestigious Executive Leadership Academy for the 2025-26 academic year.
Harmon is one of 36 leaders in higher education from across the country who will take part in the program, which kicked off June 16 with two in-person seminars in Washington, D.C. The program provides experienced vice presidents and provosts with the skills needed to pursue higher leadership, including roles as college and university presidents.
The ELA is cosponsored by the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC), the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) and the American Academic Leadership Institute (AALI).
Harmon said his involvement in the academy will allow him to gain knowledge from other administrators in higher education who represent institutions around the United States.
鈥淓LA is designed to provide participants with a self-assessment of their strengths and experiences, and to help them discover how to best utilize these in their professional lives and identify opportunities for growth,鈥 Harmon said. 鈥淚n an ever-changing and challenging environment within higher education, I will have the opportunity to learn from leaders who are successfully navigating the turbulent waters and what it will take to do so in the future.鈥
Harmon applied to the academy with an affirming nomination from Dominican University President Dr. Glena G. Temple.
Since 2009, over 100 individuals who have completed the ELA program have been appointed as presidents or chancellors of colleges and universities, according to a news release from CIC.
鈥淎t a time when working in higher education feels particularly challenging, the participants of the ELA program show how committed they are to the sector and their institutions,鈥 said CIC President Marjorie Hass.
Harmon joined Dominican University in 2022 as assistant vice president of undergraduate enrollment, overseeing the university鈥檚 record-breaking first-year enrollment. He has over 25 years of experience in higher education, with roles in enrollment management, financial aid, admission, marketing and communication, and student retention.
