In the News: Alum Named Director of Winfield Public Library
Joe Marcantonio MLIS 鈥09 recently joined the Winfield Public Library as its director.
In a July 22, 2025 profile published by Fra Noi magazine, Marcantonio shared that becoming director was a full-circle moment as he had grown up using the Winfield Public Library and worked there as a shelver when he was 16.
鈥淚 want to make a library that every person in Winfield can be proud to call their home library,鈥 he told the publication.
Before taking on his current position, Marcantonio was manager of the Schaumburg Township District Library鈥檚 Teen Place. He also worked as a young adult librarian for the Plainfield Public Library District.
